May 30,  · Leave it to John Lennon to save the day. "Hey! Bulldog" is one of the Beatles' most overlooked tunes. Its James Bond spy riff guitar hooks you, and there's a sense of paranoia to the lyrics which ends up in genuine fun as McCartney barks to Lennon at the end of the song. "Yellow Submarine", the CD version, fares better.4/5().

There's potential there, but they don't quite cut it alongside the main album tracks. - Hey Bulldog has the catchy riff, and is the best of the bunch (it was written by Lennon), but it just isn't quite refined and (given the ending) has the overtones of a muck-around that got enough editing to make it onto a disc, and not get saved up for the anthology mop-up a few decades later/5().

Vinyl Record Review. This is the Songtrack from the re-release of Yellow Submarine. IT IS NOT the official soundtrack with the George Martin Orchestra. It is a collections of Beatles songs that appear in the film either in it's entirety (When I'm 64) or even if it was only for 3 seconds (Think for Yourself)/5().

Considering the lonely six tracks for this album, “Yellow Submarine” and “All You Need Is Lover” were already well know with their connection to Revolver, with the other four numbers being drawn from sessions back in the hauntingly wonderful psychedelic tracks by George Harrison “It’s Only A Northern Song” and “It’s All Too Much,” along with Lennon’s funky and tough “Hey Bulldog” .

"Hey Bulldog" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles released on their soundtrack album Yellow Submarine. Credited to Lennon–McCartney but written primarily by John Lennon, it was finished in the studio by Lennon and McCartney. The song was recorded during the filming of the "Lady Madonna" promotional video, and, like "Lady.
